You guys, I have found a deal for you!! This amazing black, fringe, leather jacket is only $30!!! Now, I bought this jacket about a year ago at Nordstrom's for $100. I was OBSESSED with it and still am. As I was putting together this post and tried to find similar options for you, I was certain it was no longer available. But, to my surprise (drumroll please) I found the same jacket and for $30!!! Is that not an AMAZING deal?! Matter of fact, most of the items I am wearing in this post is under $30 with the exception of the handbag and boots. I love steals like this that look like you spent serious coins! The gray jeans are my new favorites and fits me to a "T." Since the weather is starting to warm up, I wanted to pull out my Stuart Weitzman Over the Knee dupes one more time! I will miss these boots when the weather warms up and calls for open toe sandals, flip flops and wedges.

I also linked up some other super cute fringe jacket options if you care to click thru!

The weekend is already coming to a close. I had the best time with my family yesterday enjoying the sunny weather, eating al fresco and taking my daughter to see the ducks at the pond.

Tell me, how did you spend your weekend??

It's Thursday! This week has flown by and I am happy about it. I think today's look is definitely up there as one of my favorites. I absolutely love graphic tees. A graphic tee allows you to be creative and expressive. You can never have too many if you ask me! You can pretty much wear this look anywhere, even for Valentine's Day if you like. I bought this hot pink leather moto jacket last year and sadly its no longer available in this particular color. I thought it would be fun to add a pop of color to this look and I really feel its the icing on the cake. You guys know I will throw on my favorite boyfriend jeans and fringe boots with just about anything. I think this outfit came together perfectly. Don't you?

If you didn't know, I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. It is a place that is near and dear to my heart. I know the Detroit you may hear about on the news sounds unsettling. And that it is. But, growing up it was my home. And there is no place like it. When I tell people I am from Detroit, they are usually surprised. I suppose we all have our thoughts on our expectations of people and where they're from. I guess because of what they have heard, they expect someone from Detroit would act or behave a certain way. I'm not really offended. But, you most definitely can't talk down on my city to me!! lol. I always will represent proudly where I am from!!

This tee speaks volumes about my city, my home. Most times, it does feel like Detroit vs Everybody. The challenges my city faces are definitely difficult. But, the memories I have growing up in "Tha D" always makes me smile. I remember when I was little, playing in the park at Belle Isle across from my grandmother apartment, Easter egg hunts at my church, riding my bike in my neighborhood and getting ice cream at our neighborhood ice cream shop. My high school, Martin Luther King Jr. Sr. is one of the top three high schools in the city. The memories I have of my classmates and teachers are priceless. Cruising downtown with my friends, the summer music festivals at Hart Plaza and eating delicious food in Greektown on a warm summer night. My mom was a community activist and worked hard at rebuilding the neighborhood and serving the community. Everyone knew Mrs. Taylor! She would take me with her to the community meetings and activities. She showed me what its truly is like to give back to your community and to be selfless as well. Looking back, I can appreciate those moments. Her love for the city was truly grand and she loved every second of the work she had done. My mother passed away five years ago. My dad is still there in the home I was raised in. I haven't visited home since I've had my daughter. I'm tearing up a bit writing this post because the memories of home are so vivid and strong.  Even though I live in Dallas now, there is truly no place like home. Detroit, I am rooting for you! And I love you.

Style Craving Tuesday: Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Picks!!

Tuesday, July 14, 2015

Hey loves! I know its been a while since my last post, but I was out on vacation last week and just returned Sunday. That and no internet at home makes for a very, MIA blogger. But, I'm back! How appropriate that the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is happening right now in time for Style Craving Tuesday? Actually, if you are a Nordie's card holder, you have Early Access and can shop now! However, for those of you who do not, its open to the public starting July 17th-August 2nd. So get ready!

I have selected a few of my top picks from this sale. Now to be honest, sales like these are a bit overwhelming to me. I'm sure some of you can relate. You feel that you don't want to miss out on great deals, but who wants to go through so many items to find what you like. Take a tip from me: I know that I love shoes and handbags, so I start there and work my way to accessories and makeup items. This to me makes it easier to narrow down my selection. I almost, always have to look at coats and jackets too because I love them for fall so I include that in my search and I'm done! Hopefully, my picks will help make this a lot more easier and fun for you. If I were you, I would grab the boots and the MAC makeup kits now as the deals are amazing! What are your favorite picks from the sale? Have you already purchased a few things?

Check back with me on Thursday for an outfit post!
