The Perfect Transitional Piece: The Cape!

Thank God Its Almost Friday!! The weekend is upon us and if your weather is anything like here in Dallas, its always confusing. It was rainy and cold last week and now its been in the 70s all week long! When weather like this arrives, its best to have some easy, transitional items in your closet to layer with that will carry you throughout the day such as this blanket cape! Its perfect for this inconsistent weather!! You can easily layer it with thin cami's or a long sleeve tee underneath. It's so easy to unzip and take right off when it gets warm! I'm currently obsessing over flare jeans and want to buy more. These J Brand flare jeans I scored for $20 at a consignment shop here in Dallas. I've linked another similar, yet affordable pair for you below. I'll definitely wear my flares with tanks, tees and off shoulder tops come spring! 

How cute is this french bakery right in Dallas? Their croissants are amazingly delicious! I wanted to take each and every one home with me to eat with a hot cup of coffee and cozy pjs.

Reversible Cape and Over The Knee Boot Please!

Hi there friends! One thing is for certain, I have been a girl all about capes and ponchos this fall/winter season. They are quick and easy to throw on and make a quick outfit. For me, I have to find one that is the perfect length that allows my legs to show and give me a bit of height. This ASOS cape does just that! It is a bit wide on me, so I used a skinny belt to create some shape and flare. Also, this cape is REVERSIBLE! So you get two looks for one cape, great buy if you ask me!! I am also wearing my favorite Over The Knee boot this season, the "Gorgeous" boot by Steve Madden! It is the PERFECT dupe for the Stuart Weitzman "Highland" boot. For under $150, I have no problem indulging in this look for less option.

Navy and Gray Color Duo!

There are plenty color combinations out there that work in terms of creating an outfit. Navy and gray is definitely one of them! The gray maintains a cool note while the navy plays against it. Today's outfit is no exception! I've had this cape for quite some time now and sad to say the company that made it is no longer. But, I have linked some gray capes that are similar to this look that I think you will like. If you don't know it, I LOVE boots! They are my absolute favorite type of shoe, so when I saw these navy babies last year I snatched them up immediately. Fortunately, they are on MAJOR sale right now! You definitely want to grab them before their gone. They are quite comfortable and I find they fit true to size. Get em' girl, get em!!

Give Thanks with a Grateful Heart!

Happy Thanksgiving!!! Thanks for stopping by the blog today! I hope you are having a fabulous time with family and friends. Today's look is an easy, comfy Thanksgiving outfit you can wear to a family dinner while yet, remaining stylish. There are so many favorite pieces to this outfit: the olive sweater cape, bold red bag, ripped jeans and these "GORGEOUS" Over the Knee boots! Now, you can always trade out the jeans for some comfy leggings so you can really get down and enjoy your meal (don't worry, no judging here), but I always love wearing my ripped jeans anytime I get a chance. You really cannot do any wrong with this simple, but statement making look. 

The year has flown by so quickly. I remember last year being on maternity leave with my little girl during Thanksgiving. We traveled to Chicago on our first airplane trip together to visit my brother in law in college. It was a trip full of worry of her first plane ride, keeping her warm in the brutal cold, and our first Thanksgiving together as a family of three. Now with having a child, the memories of my time spent with her are bolder, more vivid and have more meaning. So forgive me as I reflect on this time last year. She's grown so much!! I am most thankful of this child of mine, who is the sparkle in my eye and the reason I keep going.

Cape Love!

Happy Sunday! I talked to you recently about my top picks for capes (click here) and I am so in love with this fall trend. My love for capes started last fall where I went crazy and bought about five of them lol. Well, it continues and this cape right here?!?! A-MAZING! As soon as my eyes saw this beauty I had to have it. The black and white with the rust contrast just speaks fall. I kept it easy by wearing black over the knee wedge boots and my go to black bag. Trust me, you need this cape in your life. It's the perfect fall piece to give you a little sophistication, edge and why not, a little sass!

CAPE TOWN!!

I'm a girl whose all about a good cape!! I find they are so easy to throw on and are a great transitional piece when fall weather is a bit fickle.
